This policy explains what data the Dibs Free app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we collect what's needed to let neighbors give away and pick up free stuff, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account at any time.

What we collect
- Account: your email address or your Sign in with Apple ID, display name, and optional profile photo and banner. Guests get an anonymous account.
- Listings: photos, title, category, description and pickup notes you post.
- Location: when you allow it, your location is used to show stuff near you. For regular posts we store only an area rounded to about 500 m. For Curb Alerts we store the spot and the street address you enter, because others need to find the item.
- Dibs, chats and ratings: who called dibs on what, your messages, and the star ratings you give and receive.
- Reports and blocks: what you report and whom you block, so we can keep the community safe.
- Waitlist (website): if you sign up to be notified, your email address.
- Purchases: Dibs Pro is sold by Apple. We only receive whether your subscription is active, never your payment details.
Why we use it
To run the app (show listings, match dibs, deliver messages), to keep it safe (moderation, fraud and spam prevention), to provide Dibs Pro, and to answer your support requests. [Legal basis, e.g. contract / legitimate interest – to be confirmed by a lawyer]
Who we share it with
- Other users see your display name, profile photo, rating, your listings and their rounded area. Your exact address is only shared if you send it in a chat.
- Service providers: Supabase (database, login, file storage – servers in the US), Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases), Expo (app updates), Vercel (hosting and anonymous visitor statistics for this website), [ad network, if used].
- Authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Listings expire after 7 days (Curb Alerts after 48 hours). Your account data is kept until you delete your account. Reports may be kept longer when needed for safety or legal reasons. [Exact retention periods]
Your choices and rights
- Turn off location access any time in iPhone Settings.
- Edit your profile in the app.
- Delete your account in the app: Profile → Settings → Account management → Delete account. This removes your profile, listings and messages.

Children
Dibs Free is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
This website
This website doesn't use tracking cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address. Our host may log technical data (IP address, browser, time) for security. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits: it works without cookies, does not track you across sites, and only gives us anonymous totals such as page views, country and device type.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app when the change matters.
